How to Clean a Hot Tub Filter July 19, 2013 09:10
Since the sun has appeared, we've had numerous people asking “how to I clean my hot tub filter?”
We thought it would be worth making a couple of pointers to help you get your hot tub ready for summer.
In order to make sure that our hot tub stays clean for as long as possible we need to make sure that the filter is cleaned thoroughly as all of our water will be flowing through here, it makes sense to make sure it is ship shape.
We’d recommend cleaning your filter every 3 months to stop the build up of grime and residue.
Depending on your patience, you can leave your filter to soak for 1 hour to 12 hours depending on the chemicals you use.
It’s always worth doing this first when you are cleaning your hot tub as you can get on with cleaning the tub whilst it soaks. We’d recommend the Aqua Finesse Hot Tub Filter Cleaning Tablets for a quick clean. Simply remove your filter and submerge it in a bucket of warm water with one tablet. Leave for an hour and remove and rinse.
For a more thorough soak you can use the Jacuzzi filter cleaning granules which you can use to clean your filter overnight. With an overnight soak you can be certain that the filter will sparkling when the cleaning is finished.
Similar to the Aquafinesse tablets, you simply need to add the granules to a bucket of warm water and submerge the filter overnight. Once the filter is soaked, simply rinse with clean fresh water and leave to dry.
You’ll be amazed with the results.
We’d also recommend using a hot tub pipe cleaner to ensure that once your hot tub filter is cleaned, the pipes will be clean too , to avoid it clogging up again.
