Base, power and permission
Keep the vents clear and place the tub a little away from trees, so leaves stay out of the filter.
The base
A compact tub needs a level surface that can bear its weight when full and with bathers in.1 That is 652 kg for the Harmony, 861 kg for the Comfort and 1,451 kg for the Lagoon before anyone gets in. Your installer can check the ground, and our guide to what to consider when buying a hot tub covers bases in more detail.
The power
All three tubs are listed with a 13 amp supply. The circuit should be dedicated to the tub and protected by an RCD of 30 mA or less, fitted by a qualified electrician.1235 New outdoor circuits are covered by Part P of the Building Regulations, which your electrician will handle.6 Our hot tub electrical installation guide walks through what to ask for.
Permission
A garden hot tub does not normally need planning permission. If your home is listed or in a conservation area, check with your local authority first.4
