Three swim jets push a steady current down the 4.5 metre lane. Swim against it and you never reach the end, then recover in the massage seats.

A strong, level base
A level concrete base is the usual choice. It must carry the filled weight of 6,833 kg, plus bathers.
Room to reach it
Allow at least 50 cm on all four sides so the equipment can be serviced. We’ll check the route in with you, as a unit this size may need a crane.
A 40 amp supply
Hard-wired by a qualified electrician, protected by an RCD, with an isolator switch close by. Have it ready before delivery day.
Above ground or inset
It can sit on your patio or be set into the ground, as long as the ground around it matches the base.

How we build it
Swim jets
A wide, steady current from three swim jets.
Three swim jets sit side by side at one end, so the current is wide enough to swim straight into without being pushed off line.
A cheaper alternative
One small jet, one narrow stream.
A single jet gives a narrow, uneven current that pushes you sideways, so you fight the water instead of swimming.
How we build it
Shell structure
Three layers bonded into one strong shell.
A high-gloss acrylic surface, a vinyl ester bond and reinforced fibreglass make the shell stiff, sealed and hard-wearing.
A cheaper alternative
“Acrylic shell” only tells you about the surface.
Without a proper bond and fibreglass behind it, a thin shell can flex and crack over time.
How we build it
Heat retention
Insulated right where heat escapes.
Closed-cell foam sits directly under the shell, with a foil layer behind it, so warmth is held in the water and running costs stay low.
A cheaper alternative
Thin or patchy insulation lets heat escape.
If a listing doesn’t say what insulation is used or where it goes, you can’t tell how much the tub will cost to keep warm.
How we build it
Parts and repairs
Balboa parts that are easy to get hold of.
The control panel and electronics are by Balboa®, and we use universal parts, so a service or repair is quicker and simpler to arrange.
A cheaper alternative
Own-brand parts can mean a long wait.
If a part is only made for that one tub, a replacement can take weeks to find, and the tub sits unused in the meantime.
What it costs to run
Estimated running costs in pounds per day, on one scale. A swim spa holds several times more water than a hot tub, so keeping it covered and heating it well matter most.
