Most outdoor saunas are timber all the way through, so the outside takes the full force of the British weather. This one has a black aluminium shell, a warm spruce room inside and a full-height glass front. A proper Finnish sauna for two on your patio, with far less looking after.
The walls and frame are black aluminium. They won't rot, swell or warp the way outdoor timber can, and a wipe down keeps them looking smart.
Inside it is lined with spruce, with a spruce bench and backrest, so it looks, feels and smells like a traditional sauna.
A full-height tinted toughened glass front and door let the light in. The door opens outwards, as a sauna door should.
A sloping roof overhangs the walls by 15 cm, so rain runs off and away rather than down the door.
At 135 × 149.5 cm with the roof, it fits on a patio, a terrace or in a corner of the garden.
Choose a Harvia Vega 6 kW with dials on the heater, or Harvia The Wall 6 kW with the Fenix Wi-Fi panel so you can warm it up from your phone. A pre-drilled channel takes the cable to the heater.
Timber is lovely to sit in but hard work to keep outside. So this sauna puts timber where you sit and aluminium where the weather hits.
Aluminium doesn't absorb water, so it can't swell, split or go soft the way outdoor timber can.
There is no outside timber to stain or re-seal each year. A wipe down keeps the black finish smart.
Rain, frost and summer sun don't make it warp or twist, so the door and glass keep lining up.
The room is lined with spruce, with a spruce bench and backrest, so it smells and feels traditional.

It is small, but it is still a building with a heater inside, so plan the base, the space around it and the power before it arrives.
A concrete slab or paving that is level and can take the weight, about 450 kg built, plus the people inside. Don't stand it on grass or soil.
Plan for 135 × 149.5 cm including the roof. The manual asks for at least 5 cm round the sides and 30 cm above. We suggest about 30 cm all round, so it is easy to look after. At 192 cm tall it sits well under the usual 2.5 m limit for garden buildings near a boundary, but check with your local council.
Both heaters are 6 kW and hard-wired, not plugged in. A qualified electrician runs a dedicated supply from your consumer unit on a standard 230 V supply.
What is in the walls, the glass and the roof, and why it matters when it lives outside all year.
Aluminium doesn't soak up rain, so it won't rot, swell or warp. There is nothing to stain or seal each year.
Timber left outside soaks up rain, greys, cups and splits, and needs treating to stay sound.
You sit in a traditional timber sauna. The spruce stays inside, away from the rain.
Some modern cabins skimp on the timber inside, which changes how the heat feels.
A full-height tinted toughened glass front and door, made for sauna heat. The door opens outwards.
A small window keeps a small room dark and boxy.
The roof slopes and overhangs the walls, so rain runs off and falls clear of the walls and door.
A roof with no slope or overhang leaves water sitting on top and running down the door.
Both heaters are Harvia 6 kW, which suits a two-person room. The Wall comes with the Fenix Wi-Fi panel so you can warm it up from your phone. Pick one above and the figures here follow your choice.

How we work this out: a 45-minute warm-up at full power, then a one-hour session with the heater on about half the time, so about 1.25 hours at full power. Electricity at 26.32p per kWh, the Ofgem price cap from October to December 2026. A month is 4.3 weeks. Your costs depend on your tariff, the weather and how hot you like it.
There is no wrong way to sauna, but this simple rhythm is how most Finns do it.
Switch on well before you want to go in. Most people enjoy 70 to 90°C. Take a quick shower first.
Stay 8 to 15 minutes. Ladle a little water on the stones for a burst of soft steam.
Step out for a cold shower, a dip in an ice bath or just fresh air.
Sit down, drink some water, and when you are ready go back in. Two or three rounds is plenty.
Our own sauna, looked after by our UK team.
Your sauna comes with a 1-year Outdoor Living warranty, and your Harvia heater is covered by Harvia. If anything goes wrong, call us first and we'll sort it out.
The outside needs very little. The spruce inside likes a few simple habits.
It keeps the bench clean and stops sweat marks soaking into the spruce.
After a session, leave the door ajar for a while so the inside dries. Don't use cleaning products or sealants inside.
A wipe with a damp cloth now and then keeps the black aluminium looking smart.
Re-stack the heater stones once a year and replace any that have crumbled.
